Austria’s first Sherlock (Holmes) Convention - which I am part of the organisational team of - is proud to announce that the production designer of the BBC series “Sherlock”, Mr Arwel Wyn Jones, will attend and bring along tons of interesting pictures and stories from behind the scenes and answer all your “Setlock” related questions! :D I'm so thrilled~

First of all, I'd like to thank everone for the lovely birthday wishes - thank you so much, you guys! And I'm sorry for the late reply, as my Artist's Block still has me firmly in its clutches, and I haven't drawn anything in months, so I'm hardly ever on dA anymore...

However, as I'm still active in fandom, and have recently joined a group of people who are planning to organise Austria's very first Sherlock Holmes convention this summer in Vienna, I thought I'd share the information with you, as maybe some Sherlockians from our neighbouring countries would be interested to come? :D

Anyway, here's what you need to know:

WHAT: Baker Street Vienna, Austria's first Sherlock Holmes Convention

WHEN:  14 and 15 June 2014

WHERE: Vienna, Austria, Don Bosco Haus, St. Veit Gasse 25

WHAT #2: A convention celebrating the genius of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous detective, both in novel and screen version. There will be discussion panels, workshops, lectures (both fandom-related and by experts on all things Holmesian, as well as professionals such as working detectives), contests, an art ally, an event-wide treasure hunt... and possible celebrity guests as well, we're still negotiating.

The convention will be held in both English and German.

Tickets and more information are available at www.bakerstreetvienna.at, and you can also find us at Tumblr and Twitter.

It would be great seeing you at the convention!! :D

...is what I felt while and after watching HP7.1

I was even planning to go on another fangirl rage rant here on dA but having read other peoples reviews and watched trailers and snippets of part 2, my anger and indignation have mostly evaporated.
After all, the books are and always will be the only canon, so there.

However, I'm still dismayed about how they left out so many things I was looking forward to seeing (the picture in Luna's room, e.g.), how Kloves and Yates were again blatantly shipping Harry/Hermione while stripping the Ron/Hermione scenes from the emotinal intensity they had in the books (Hermione's reaction at Ron's return; Ron's reaction to Hermione being tortured) and not including Harry and Ron's wonderful bromantic moment after the locket scene ;___;

As tlc put in wonderfully in her comment here markwatches.net/reviews/2010/1… :

'I was NOT DOWN with everyone, not just Ron, being so chill in the dungeon, though. They were upset for a minute and then Luna showed and it was like, "Oh, hey. What's up? How've you been? Imprisoned? Cool, cool. Oh, Hermione's here too, she's the one screaming." GAH.

Seconded.

Also - because friends of mine care a lot, so I care, too - what did they ever do with Grindelwald? Instead of doing his utmost to mislead Voldemort and protect his beloved Dumbledore, he just sells him out, wtf?! ;_;

I'm still looking forward to part #2, though.

And it will be so sad to see it officially come to an end - HP has been an integral part of my life for nearly 12 years now...
