A Shipping Meme - 2015 version
Just for fun I decided to draw a new version of the couples meme I filled out back in 2011
- quite a lot has changed since then and loads of new ships have joined my "fleet", so I thought it was time for an update.
Here we go:The most favourite
This hasn't changed, actually: my all-time OTP is still the Bentley-driving demon and the book-loving angel trying to prevent Armageddon in Sir Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's wonderful novel "Good Omens" - I still ship them so hard. The most recent: "Coliver"
The slightly asshole-y law student and the shy IT guy from ABC's crime show "How To Get Away With Murder". Second season starts tonight, I'm so excited (though I find the show itself only so-so, to be honest I only watch for the Coliver
>///<)The sweetest: "The Ponds"
The feisty Scottish lass who travels time and space with her not-so imaginary friend, and the brave and loyal nurse who waits for her for 2,000 years, from the BBC's "Doctor Who". They are absolute sweethearts
and I adore them. The most passionate
The witty Edwardian girl with too many prejudices and the super rich, super socially awkward gentleman with too much pride. I love them in all incarnation (Jane Austen's original novel, movies, TV shows) but most of all in the 1995 BBC mini series with wet!Colin First The most complicated: "Kalagang"
The German burglar with a problematic family and the Indian pharmacist marrying a man she doesn't love. 'Complicated' because they're telepatically and emotionally linked and meet when Wolfgang appears at Kala's wedding butt-naked... Netflix's sci-fi show"Sense8" is amazing The most unexpected: "Nolly"
The actor and singer of 'Years & Years', actual sunshine despite a shitty past, and the DJ and violinist of 'Clean Bandit', nerdy and childish despite two Cambridge degrees. They met on tour in Oct 2014 and are adorable
. 'Unexpected' because I never thought I'd ship real people but... yeah. The funniest: "Herlito"
The slightly dramaqueen-y telenovela and action movie star and the art lover, talented cook and wresting fan, again from Netflix's "Sense8", which I'm slightly obsessed with at the moment and where I actually love all four canon couples from. The most tragic: "Marmiike"
The passionate political activist and his brother-in-arms and best friend from the wonderful British comedy "Pride
". The real people these characters are based on were never a couple, though.Family
The socially awkward engineer and the no-nonsense microbiologist - they are the sweetest
and for a while were the only reason I kept watching TBBT when it had lost its zing. I also ship Howard with Raj, btw, but more with Bernie (so the opposite of the Sirius/Remus/Tonks situation XD)Best friends
The Malibu cheerleader who applies to Harward Law to win back her lousy ex, and the hard-working tutor who encourages her to study in earnest from the musical "Legally Blonde". They complete
each other so wonderfully and I adore them. Extra pairing #1: "Everlark"
The socially awkward archer and the loyal baker from Suzanne Collins' dystopian YA trilogy "The Hunger Games" - I love them both in the novels and their movie version, and am looking forward to the last film~Extra pairing #2
The promiscous L.A. party boy and the Mormon missionary from the 2003 low-budget indie gay romance "Latter Days". The film is my guilty pleasure and I regret nothing XD
Heh, I've only just noticed myself but it looks like I clearly have a type XDDDD (with straight couples, those where the girl is wearing the pants, and with gay couples, those with no heteronormative seme/uke roles) Also, I love socially awkward characters... wonder why that might be the case
If anybody wants to introduce me to their current OTPs, please do, I'd love to get to know them!!
